I’ve started getting an error when attempting to connect to my team’s Trino server from Tableau Desktop using the Starburst connector after updating to connector version 1.5.1. I was previously able to connect successfully, but after installing the updated connector version I get the error “Unable to connect to the Starburst by Starburst server “”. Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database.” The specific error code Tableau is giving me is 06DA155A.
I can confirm that nothing changed about the details I was using to connect to Trino aside from the updated connector version and upgrading the Trino JDBC driver to version 479.
I’ve done and verified the following:
- Verified I’m able to connect to Trino from DataGrip on my computer
- Tried every Trino JDBC driver version between 468 and 479
- Completely uninstalling and reinstalling Tableau Desktop
Any insights into what else I can attempt for troubleshooting this would be appreciated
