Presto Monitoring with Datadog:
Datadog recently announced support for Presto integration with their data monitoring software. Monitor more than 100 Presto performance and resource usage metrics alongside metrics from various other data stores.

Apache Phoenix Connector makes HBase available to Presto:
Read all about the new Apache Phoenix Connector and how this enables you to query data stored in HBase.

User impersonation in Presto connectors:
User impersonation enables Presto to be authenticated when accessing external service through the connector. With this approach Presto authenticates in the external service using credentials stored in connector properties file, but once it connects it informs the external service that any further action in given session should be performed on behalf of current Presto user.

Quix by Wix: a notebook tool for Presto
Quix is a multi-user, easy-to-use notebook manager. By utilizing Presto it provides unified access to multiple data sources and effectively acts as a shared space for your company’s BI insights and know-how.

Removing redundant ORDER BY:
Some SQL constructs such as ORDER BY do not affect query results in many situations, and can negatively affect performance unless the optimizer is smart enough to remove them. This feature has been added in Presto 312! Read more about what this entails.
