Migration from PrestoSQL to Trino explained
Now that PrestoSQL is rebranded to Trino, here come the hard part: migrating to the new version of the software. Trino 351 uses the name Trino everywhere, but there are some unavoidable compatibility aspects that administrators of Trino need to know about. Presto Releases & New Features
Last week we released Starburst Enterprise 350-e LTS which includes many significant features to help Starburst customers like you with new and enhanced connectivity, improved performance, and more robust security.
In this release you’ll find:
Insights – Now providing a visual overview of important metrics about your Starburst Enterprise cluster for all types of users, from platform administrators to data consumers. Read more about Starburst Insights here.
New Connectors – For the Starburst Hive Connector we’ve added support for a new protocol for Delta Lake and Hive-Ranger Support for Delta Lake. We’ve also added a new Starburst Remote Connector and Starburst Azure Synapse Connector, and enhancements to the Starburst Kafka Connector, Starburst Redshift Connector, and Starburst SAP HANA Connector.
Performance Enhancements – We’ve introduced a cache service that provides the ability to configure and automate the management of table scan redirections.
Security Improvements – Now available is client side OIDC support (SSO) for compliance and reduced operationally complexity, Ranger 2.1.0 compatibility, and integration with Immuta for maximized security.
